Five Teens Arrested in Burglary Probe

Queensland police have arrested five teenagers in connection with a series of alleged break-and-enter offences across the South Brisbane and Gold Coast districts in recent days. Investigators believe the incidents may be linked to a stolen white 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep was allegedly stolen during a burglary at a Kingscliff property between the night of March 29 and the early hours of March 30. Later that morning, four people allegedly forced their way into a residence at Rochedale, threatened a woman with a knife and injured her finger before leaving in a white SUV.

Police also allege that four people broke into a home at Calamvale and stole a Mercedes-Benz. A female resident was injured while attempting to prevent the vehicle from being taken. In a separate incident at Robina early on March 31, a group allegedly entered a property and attempted to steal another Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle crashed while being reversed, and the homeowner was allegedly assaulted, sustaining minor injuries.

The five arrested suspects include two 16-year-olds and teenagers aged 17, 18 and 19. Police said investigations into other potentially related incidents are continuing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Queensland Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
