Queensland police have charged a 14-year-old girl following an alleged wounding incident at a business on Church Street, Charters Towers, on the night of August 29.

Officers were called shortly after 8 p.m. after reports that a 19-year-old woman had been injured. Police said the woman was found with several alleged stab wounds and was taken to Charters Towers Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The girl, from Richmond Hill and known to the woman, has been charged with one count each of wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm. Bail was refused, and she is due to appear in Townsville Children’s Court on August 31.
