A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a reversing vehicle in North Ipswich on the night of August 27, Queensland Police said. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident. Police said an 81-year-old woman was on Simmons Road at about 10:35 p.m. when a white Nissan X-Trail reversed into her, knocking her to the ground. She suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 84-year-old driver of the vehicle was not physically injured and is assisting police with their inquiries. Investigators are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Information should be provided to police under reference number QP2601677165.
