Gympie has appointed Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Harris to lead the region’s Criminal Investigation Branch and Child Investigation and Protection Unit, strengthening investigative capabilities across the Gympie Patrol Group. Harris will oversee criminal investigations conducted by both units and lead the development and implementation of strategies to reduce offending and improve investigative services. The Queensland Police Service said the newly created role would bring additional capability to the region. Harris said he was looking forward to working with Gympie’s experienced detectives and building on the units’ reputation for dedication and resilience. Harris has served with the Queensland Police Service for 19 years and was previously a detective sergeant with the Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch.
