Queensland police have charged a 32-year-old Raceview man following the alleged sexual assault of a woman in her 20s in Brookfield on August 20. Police allege the woman was walking along Brookfield Road near the Brookfield Road bridge at about 6:33 a.m. when she was stopped by an unknown man and assaulted. Detectives from the Ferny Grove Child Protection and Investigation Unit later located a man on nearby Moon Lane and took him into custody. The man has been charged with six counts of rape and one count each of stalking, assault with intent to commit rape, assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty. He was due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 21. Police said specialist and general-duty officers would maintain an increased presence in Brookfield while investigations continue.
