Queensland police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted in Brookfield on the morning of August 20. Detectives from the Ferny Grove Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the incident, which police are treating as isolated. Police said the woman was walking along Brookfield Road near the Brookfield Road bridge at about 6:33 a.m. when she was stopped and assaulted by an unknown man. The man, who was wearing black shorts and a black jumper, fled on foot. Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 5:45 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., particularly motorists with dashcam footage, to contact police. Detectives and specialist officers have been deployed in the area, while increased patrols are being conducted. Information can be provided to Policelink online or by calling 131 444.
