Samsung Adds DualVent Microwave

Samsung Electronics will launch a new over-the-range microwave in the United States and Canada beginning in September 2026, introducing its DualVent ventilation system and connected cooking features.

The system uses air intakes at the bottom and front of the microwave to capture fumes from across the cooktop. Samsung said chamber testing showed a fume-capture rate of up to 82% under specified conditions, comparable to the company’s standalone range hoods in the same tests.

DualVent is operated through LED-lit controls, which open the microwave’s front blades automatically when ventilation is activated and close them when it is turned off. The appliance also includes Auto Connectivity, allowing compatible Samsung Wi-Fi-enabled cooktops and range ovens to coordinate functions through the SmartThings app.

The microwave will feature a fingerprint-resistant finish designed to help maintain its appearance. Samsung noted that ventilation performance may vary based on installation, duct type, cooking method and other environmental factors, while Auto Connectivity requires compatible Samsung appliances and a registered Wi-Fi connection.
