Queensland police have charged a 32-year-old Gladstone Central man with 17 offences following a series of alleged incidents across Gladstone, including attempted thefts, a fuel drive-off and dangerous driving. Police allege the man attempted to steal an ATM from a Kin Kora business about 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 5 before leaving in a gold Ford Falcon. The vehicle was later allegedly involved in a fuel drive-off at a Glenlyon Street service station. Two days later, the same vehicle allegedly drove through bollards and the front sliding doors of a sporting venue on O’Connell Street, Barney Point, passing through the lobby before leaving. Police also allege the man attempted to steal items from a grocery store on Shaw Street, New Auckland. A gold Ford Falcon was later reported on fire on Wuttke Road, South Trees. Police executed a search warrant at a Clinton residence and arrested the man. The charges include dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evasion, stealing, drug-supply offences and six counts of driving without a licence.
