Ipswich Operation Charges Nearly 300

Queensland police have charged nearly 300 people with 556 offences in Ipswich since launching Operation Yankee Forge in February, targeting robbery, unlawful entry and motor vehicle theft. The operation involves local and specialist officers conducting high-visibility patrols and investigations across crime hotspots.

Police said 192 adults had been charged with 331 offences, while 105 juveniles faced 225 charges. Among the offences were 69 robbery charges, 298 unlawful-entry charges and 189 charges related to the unlawful use of motor vehicles.

Recent investigations included the arrests of three juveniles allegedly involved in armed robberies at three fast-food stores in Goodna on July 18. A 19-year-old Bundamba man was also charged over the alleged theft and subsequent burning of a Toyota LandCruiser, while a 16-year-old Goodna boy was charged over an alleged armed robbery at a tool store in Ebbw Vale.

Ipswich District Officer Superintendent Ray Vine said the operation would continue focusing on high-harm and high-volume offending. Police encouraged residents to secure their homes and vehicles, report suspicious activity and work with authorities to help reduce crime.
