A 30-year-old Cleveland man has been charged over an alleged break-in at a business on Middle Street on August 6, Queensland Police said.

Police allege the man removed a fire extinguisher from an external wall at about 3 p.m. and used it to enter the building. He allegedly stole a knife before leaving the scene.

Investigators arrested the man in Cleveland on August 8. He has been charged with entering premises and committing an indictable offence by break, and is due to appear at Cleveland Magistrates Court on August 25.
