A 91-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a serious traffic crash near Gumlu in Queensland. The crash occurred on July 14, when a silver Mitsubishi ASX left the Bruce Highway and crashed into a dry creek bed near Gates Creek Bridge. The vehicle’s driver, a 69-year-old woman from Howard, and her passenger were transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver has since been released, while the man was later transferred to Townsville University Hospital, where he died on August 2. Queensland Police said investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
