Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung visited the company’s manufacturing facility in İzmit, Türkiye, to review preparations for production of the IONIQ 3 and discuss local sales and production strategies, the company said Aug. 3. The IONIQ 3 will mark Hyundai Motor Türkiye’s first move into electric vehicle manufacturing. The company said the facility is preparing for production as part of Hyundai’s broader electrification strategy. Hyundai Motor Türkiye is the group’s longest-running overseas production site. Since beginning operations in 1997, the plant has produced approximately 3.4 million vehicles, according to the company. Hyundai also highlighted its community initiatives in Türkiye, including restoration projects, scholarship programs and disaster relief efforts.
