A Logan Village man has been charged after an alleged tyre theft, dangerous driving incident and crash involving a police vehicle at Yarrabilba on Sunday night. Queensland Police said the 18-year-old allegedly stole a tyre from a Fletcher Street address shortly after 8pm on August 2 before driving away in a black Ford Fairmont displaying stolen licence plates. The member of the public suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment, while two police officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The accused was also taken to hospital for assessment. He has been charged with stealing, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, damaging an emergency vehicle, receiving tainted property, driving unregistered and uninsured, and assault. He is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 3. Investigations are continuing, and police are seeking information from witnesses.
