A severe traffic accident occurred early this morning, July 12, at Palmview, involving a dangerous driving incident that resulted in critical injuries to two teenagers. The Queensland Police Service’s Forensic Crash Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

At approximately 2:05 AM, a black Holden Commodore, reported to be driving recklessly on Frizzo Road and Pignata Road, collided with a red Volvo C30. The impact of the crash seriously injured two teenage boys, ages 15 and 17, who were promptly transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The 17-year-old is reported to be in a serious but stable condition, while the 15-year-old’s condition escalated to life-threatening, necessitating an airlift to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The driver of the Volvo, an 18-year-old male, sustained minor injuries. Queensland Police are urging anyone with information or footage of the incident to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation. They underscore the importance of community assistance in such cases and have provided contact details for Policelink and Crime Stoppers for anonymous tips.

The Queensland Police Service reiterated their commitment to reducing road fatalities and emphasized the critical role of responsible driving behavior. They reminded the public that enforcement alone is insufficient to curb dangerous driving, highlighting that the choices drivers make—such as driving under the influence, speeding, or driving while distracted—are pivotal in ensuring road safety.
