The driver of the Hilux, also 66, from Monto, was unharmed.

Queensland Police are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to come forward to assist with the investigation. Information can be reported anonymously through Crime Stoppers or by contacting Policelink using their online suspicious activity form.

The Queensland Police Service emphasized their commitment to enhancing road safety, stating that enforcement alone is not enough to curb dangerous driving behavior. They highlighted the critical role of personal decision-making in preventing accidents, mentioning common risks such as driving under the influence, speeding, and distracted or fatigued driving. The community is reminded that road safety starts with individual choices behind the wheel.
