Police have charged a 36-year-old man from Capalaba with multiple assault charges following three separate incidents that occurred between June 28 and July 10. The Queensland Police Service confirmed the arrest and detailed the sequence of assaults that led to the man’s apprehension. The series of violent encounters began on June 28 when a 61-year-old man was assaulted while walking along Ney Road in Capalaba. The victim reported being attacked between 10:25 pm and 10:45 pm before the assailant fled on foot. The elderly man required hospital treatment at Redland Hospital following the incident. Subsequent attacks included a July 6 assault on a 58-year-old woman who was confronted while packing a trailer on Greenup Street early in the morning. She, too, was taken to the hospital after the assault. The most recent assault occurred on July 10, when a 41-year-old man was knocked to the ground and assaulted outside a residence on Macquarie Street. The suspect was arrested shortly after the last attack at a nearby address and has been charged with one count of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 11. Police have confirmed that they are not seeking any other individuals in connection with these assaults and expressed their gratitude towards the public for their assistance in capturing the offender.
