A devastating two-vehicle collision in Iverness, Yeppoon, has resulted in the death of an 82-year-old man. The accident occurred on Limestone Creek Road around 4:30 pm on June 15, when a Toyota Landcruiser collided with a Holden Cruze. Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the crash. According to initial investigations by Queensland Police, the Holden was making a turn into a private property when it was hit from behind by the Toyota. The impact caused severe injuries to an elderly passenger in the Holden, who later succumbed to his injuries at Yeppoon hospital early on June 25. The 67-year-old driver of the Holden from Iverness was unharmed, while the 45-year-old driver of the Toyota from Adelaide Park also escaped physical injury and is currently cooperating with the police as part of the ongoing investigation. The Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is actively investigating the incident and urges anyone with information or dashcam footage of the accident to come forward.
