Police in Woree, Queensland have taken three teenage girls into custody following an early morning armed robbery at a local service station on June 22, 2026. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM during routine police patrols, which coincidentally allowed officers to promptly respond to the emergency. Upon their arrival, officers observed the service station attendant visibly distressed and intervened as the teens were threatening him with a knife to extract cash. The police successfully disarmed a 17-year-old girl wielding the knife and subsequently arrested all three suspects at the scene. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during the incident. The suspects, local girls aged 15, 16, and 17, face serious charges including armed robbery, with additional charges of stealing, trespass, wilful damage, and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property laid against individual suspects. The teenagers were denied police bail and were scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court on June 23, 2026.
