Queensland Police have officially revoked the emergency declaration previously issued under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Murarrie due to a significant industrial fire. The earlier restriction, which included multiple streets around Alexandra Place, has been lifted as of early this morning.

Initially reported just after 3 AM at an industrial building in Alexandra Place, the fire prompted the declaration of a PSPA at 4:23 AM. The exclusion zone affected major thoroughfares including Creek Road, Wynnum Road, Lytton Road, and parts of the Gateway Motorway. Residents were advised to stay indoors, and motorists were directed to avoid the area.

Following the revocation, a crime scene has been established at the site on Queensport Road where emergency services are conducting investigations into the fire’s origins. Although the PSPA has been lifted, traffic disruptions continue due to residual smoke, and drivers are cautioned to remain vigilant. The public is encouraged to stay informed through local updates and adhere to any further instructions from the authorities. Investigations are ongoing, and any witnesses or individuals with information are urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
