Emergency Declared in Murarrie

In the early hours of June 5, 2026, a large fire prompted Queensland Police to implement an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Murarrie, a suburb of Brisbane. The declaration was issued following a blaze that engulfed an industrial building on Alexandra Place.

The emergency services responded to the fire around 3 AM, and by 4:23 AM, a PSPA was declared, setting up an exclusion zone that includes major thoroughfares such as Creek Road, Wynnum Road, Lytton Road, and sections of the Gateway Motorway.
