Zelenskyy Reviews Military Strategies

In a critical staff meeting on June 1, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with his top military officials, conducted a thorough analysis of the ongoing implementation of strategic military decisions directly impacting the frontline combat brigades. The meeting, held by the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, focused on several key areas including direct funding for combat brigades, equitable personnel distribution, and the expansion of military training capabilities.

President Zelenskyy noted substantial improvements in the Ukrainian military’s frontline positions following the implementation of these decisions in the latter half of the previous year. He highlighted that about 160 military units now benefit from stable, guaranteed reinforcements. Furthermore, the number of units authorized to conduct basic general military training has doubled, significantly enhancing their operational effectiveness.

The discussions also extended to logistical support, with a particular focus on the supply of long-range 155 mm artillery shells—a frequent request from military units. President Zelenskyy has directed the concerned officials to explore broader financing and production avenues to bolster artillery capabilities crucial for frontline success. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense is actively working on improving vehicle support to the troops, with specific measures already underway to supply pickup trucks.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, provided an update on the current situation in key frontline sectors, affirming the strength of Ukrainian positions. President Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of air defense, instructing the Ministry of Defense to enhance anti-ballistic measures and secure necessary missile supplies through intensified collaborations with international partners.
