Police in the Wide Bay Burnett district have charged two individuals with a total of 73 offenses following a series of break-ins involving a stolen silver Mercedes Benz C250. The incidents occurred in various areas including Hervey Bay, Maryborough, and Bundaberg. According to reports, six businesses in different locations were targeted, with items being stolen from each. The break-ins took place at establishments on the Esplanade in Torquay, Lennox Street in Maryborough, Walker Street in Bundaberg Central, among others. Authorities have linked the stolen Mercedes Benz to all of the incidents, stating that the vehicle was taken from Eli Waters and later found abandoned in Urangan. Additionally, a black Hyundai i45 was reported stolen from a different address and recovered in Torquay, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old man. The 22-year-old from Eli Waters has been charged with multiple counts including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter premises and commit indictable offense by break, and possession of a knife in a public place. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 19. A 17-year-old boy from Scarness has also been arrested and faces charges related to the incidents.
