Forensic Crash Unit investigators have charged two teenagers in connection with a traffic crash that occurred in Woombye on May 7. The incident involved a blue Toyota Corolla traveling north on Nambour Connection Road and a white Suzuki Swift traveling south, resulting in a collision at the intersection with McKenzie Road. The driver and passengers of the Suzuki sustained serious injuries but are in stable condition.

According to reports, the driver and passenger of the Toyota fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, and the vehicle was later reported stolen from a carpark in Caboolture. On May 16, a 16-year-old boy from Caboolture and a 15-year-old girl from Morayfield were charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The boy faces additional charges including dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, unlicensed driving, and failure to remain at the scene. The girl was processed under the Youth Justice Act, while the boy is scheduled to appear in the Maroochydore Children’s Court on May 21.
