The accident took place around 4:20 AM at the intersection of Ferny Avenue and Beach Road. A southbound sedan collided with a truck, causing the truck to overturn. The crash resulted in the female sedan driver sustaining severe head injuries, necessitating her extraction from the vehicle and urgent transportation to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition. The truck driver, although suffering minor injuries, was also taken to the hospital and is reported to be stable.
