Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, following a tragic incident in Goodna, Queensland. The charge stems from a fatal crash that occurred on March 11, where a Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by the accused, allegedly veered onto the wrong side of Brisbane Road and collided with the Ipswich Motorway underpass. The crash resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy from Redbank Plains who was a passenger in the vehicle. He suffered life-threatening injuries and, despite being rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital, was later pronounced dead. The driver and another 16-year-old passenger from Redbank sustained injuries and were also treated at the same hospital. The Queensland Police Service emphasized their ongoing commitment to road safety, reminding the public that responsible driving is crucial to reducing road fatalities. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Ipswich Children’s Court on April 13. The police urge all drivers to adhere to road rules and avoid reckless behaviors that endanger lives.
