A man faces charges of grievous bodily harm following a severe assault in Brisbane, Queensland Police reported. The incident, which left a 47-year-old Highfields man with significant injuries, occurred on the evening of April 4th in an alley off Edward Street. According to Queensland Police, the assault happened just before 10 PM when the suspect allegedly approached and attacked the victim. The injured man was urgently transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment. In response to the assault, detectives from the Brisbane City Child Protection Investigation Unit and the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch carried out thorough investigations. These efforts led to the execution of search warrants at addresses in Arana Hills and Sandgate on April 5th. A 25-year-old man from Arana Hills was arrested in connection with the incident. The suspect has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 7th.
