Tragic End in Swimmer’s Search

Police have confirmed the tragic discovery of a 20-year-old man’s body at Main Beach, marking a sorrowful conclusion to the search operation launched earlier today, March 4, 2026.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) initiated the search after the young man was reported missing. Despite the swift response and extensive efforts by the search and rescue teams, the man was found deceased at approximately 1:40 PM. The police are preparing a report for the coroner to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
