A man has been charged following a string of armed robberies in Sunnybank and Wishart, Queensland, according to the Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch. The incidents occurred late in the evening on February 22, leading to a rapid police response and subsequent arrest. The suspect, a 22-year-old male from Logan Central, reportedly accosted three individuals in various locations including a park on Beenleigh Road, Mains Road, and Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road. Authorities stated that the man, equipped with an airsoft pistol, demanded money during these encounters and managed to abscond with a small amount of cash. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported from the confrontations. Following investigations, law enforcement conducted a search at an Ashmore residence on February 24, where they apprehended the suspect. During the operation, police seized an airsoft pistol, drug paraphernalia, and small quantities of methylamphetamine and cannabis. The charges laid against the man include two counts of attempted armed robbery, one count of armed robbery, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of a category H weapon. He is currently held in custody and is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on March 25.
