Witnesses Sought in Townsville Assault

Police in Townsville are calling for witnesses following an assault involving two local men on the evening of February 24. The incident, which escalated to a physical altercation, occurred around 8.55 p.m. on Ogden Street, leading to serious injuries for one of the individuals involved.

The conflict began with a street disturbance between a 60-year-old man from Pimlico and a group of people. It escalated when a 50-year-old man from Heatley, who was part of the group, engaged physically with the older man. The altercation resulted in the Pimlico man sustaining head and facial injuries, necessitating his transfer to Townsville University Hospital for treatment. The Heatley man did not report any physical injuries.

Queensland Police Service is actively investigating the matter and urges anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage to come forward.
