In a significant development aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by Ukrainian families amidst ongoing conflict, the Olena Zelenska Foundation has partnered with the Czech Kellner Family Foundation. Announced on February 4, 2026, this collaboration brings forth a substantial contribution of 170 million Czech korunas from the Czech entity to bolster the Ukrainian foundation’s efforts in humanitarian aid and infrastructure support.

The partnership targets critical areas to ensure the safety and continuation of essential services in Ukraine, particularly focusing on children and family units severely impacted by the conflict. The funds are earmarked for three main initiatives: enhancing energy resilience across vital institutions, providing support to foster families and orphans, and reinforcing educational facilities through the Safe School project.

Under the energy resilience initiative, the foundations will supply generators, charging stations, and other necessary equipment to ensure hospitals, schools, and elderly care facilities remain operational despite ongoing disruptions in energy supply due to the conflict. The humanitarian effort extends to foster and large foster families, offering them much-needed support as they care for children who have lost parental care during these tumultuous times.

Additionally, the Safe School project aims to equip schools with necessary shelters, kitchen facilities, and systems to maintain energy autonomy, safeguarding the continuity of education. This comprehensive support not only addresses immediate needs but also invests in the future stability and resilience of Ukraine.

Renata Kellnerová, Chair of the Kellner Family Foundation, emphasized the urgency of the situation and the foundation’s commitment to making a tangible difference. After discussions with Czech President Petr Pavel, Kellnerová highlighted the focus on those most in need, stating, “We cannot simply stand aside and watch people in Ukraine struggle to meet basic needs – heat, electricity, or drinking water.”

This partnership underscores a shared vision between the two foundations, recognizing the profound impact of concerted humanitarian efforts in times of crisis and the essential role of international cooperation in fostering hope and rebuilding lives.
