Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 50-year-old man from Mermaid Beach with 51 offences, including multiple counts of sexual assault and rape. The charges are the result of an extensive investigation into alleged sexual assaults that occurred between April and November 2025.

The accused allegedly targeted three women, all in their 20s and known to him, committing a series of crimes that have shocked the local community. The police executed a search warrant at a business on Seaview Ave, Mermaid Beach, where they seized several items linked to the allegations.

The man was arrested this afternoon after he presented himself at the Southport Police Station. He faces 34 counts of sexual assault, 14 counts of rape, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of attempted rape. He was denied police bail and is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

Authorities encourage anyone with information related to this case or other suspicious activities to contact Policelink or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers. The Queensland Police also remind those affected by sexual assault that support services, including a 24-hour helpline, are available.
