Police in Queensland are calling for public assistance to help identify a driver involved in a serious traffic accident in Cannonvale, Whitsunday region, on January 23. The incident, which occurred late at night on Island Drive, involved a dark-colored vehicle, suspected to be a late model Ford Everest, striking a 40-year-old man riding an e-scooter.

Initial reports from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) indicate that the vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it hit the e-scooter rider, causing him serious injuries. The victim was promptly transported to a hospital. Disturbingly, the driver did not stop to offer help and fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
