Queensland police have arrested a man and a woman in Home Hill on serious drug and firearm charges following a raid on January 21. The operation led to the seizure of significant quantities of drugs, a firearm, and a large sum of cash, as authorities continue to clamp down on local crime.

Early morning on Friday, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Third Avenue. During the search, officers discovered approximately 1kg of methylamphetamines, 87 grams of MDMA, around $93,000 in cash, and a firearm. A 40-year-old man from Home Hill and a 30-year-old woman from Ayr were taken into custody at the scene.

The male suspect faces multiple charges, including three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing utensils or pipes for drug use, and one count of possessing property obtained from drug trafficking or supplying. He is scheduled for a court appearance today at the Townsville Magistrates Court. Meanwhile, the female suspect has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils. She has been granted bail and is due to appear at the Ayr Magistrates Court on March 9.
