Officers from the State Flying Squad (SFS) arrested a 37-year-old man from South Mackay, charging him with 48 sexual offences. This operation, conducted to boost local police efforts in Mackay, involved executing a search warrant during which a phone was seized. It is alleged that the man engaged in recording and distributing private acts without consent, causing distress to the victims. Specifically, he faces 28 counts of distributing intimate images, 17 counts related to privacy breaches of genital or anal regions, and three additional counts of privacy breaches. The accused is slated to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on January 7, 2026. In the meantime, police are urging anyone with further information to contribute by contacting the Mackay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Policelink, or anonymously through Crimestoppers. Detective Inspector Joe Nixon emphasized the importance of the SFS’s role, noting their deployment to crime hotspots across Queensland to assist local enforcement. “Arresting serious repeat offenders is vital in our efforts to ensure community safety and enhance public confidence,” he stated. The Queensland Police continue to encourage the public to report any suspicious activities directly or through their online platforms. Post navigation Arrest Over Sunshine Graffiti Spree
