Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch are calling for public assistance following an assault on a woman in Burleigh Heads National Park on December 19, 2025. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM when a 38-year-old woman was attacked from behind by an unidentified male assailant. The victim was physically assaulted before being rescued by two passersby, after which the attacker fled towards the northern lookout area. Fortunately, the woman sustained only minor physical injuries. Authorities are now urging the two individuals who intervened to come forward and assist with the investigation. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is seeking any information related to the assault, including footage or dashcam videos from around the park and Goodwin Terrace. They hope that witnesses or anyone with pertinent information will contact Policelink or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
