Detectives have arrested and charged a 68-year-old man from Silver Valley following an alleged shooting incident that took place in the area on May 13. The incident involved a 44-year-old man who sustained gunshot wounds during an altercation at a Shady Creek Road address.

According to Queensland Police News, the 68-year-old suspect, who was known to the victim, was taken into custody on May 14 and has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm. He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on May 15.
