Fatal Traffic Crash in Charters Towers Claims Life of Woman

The Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating a tragic fatal traffic crash that occurred in Breddan near Charters Towers on May 14. The incident involved a head-on collision between a Holden Epica and a Hyundai Kona on the Flinders Highway near Macrossan Bridge around 4.05 pm. Sadly, a woman in her 50s, who was a passenger in the Kona, lost her life at the scene. The driver of the Epica, a woman in her 40s, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Townsville Hospital. The driver of the Kona, a man in his 50s, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to Townsville Hospital for treatment.
