European Parliament’s Busy Week

The European Parliament is set to have a busy schedule from November 10-16, 2025, filled with plenary sessions and committee meetings that will address key issues including climate neutrality, agricultural policies, and digitalization in the workplace.

The week will kick off on Monday with the Committee on the Environment, Climate Change, and Food Safety voting on regulations aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2040. Concurrently, negotiations will take place to simplify the EU’s common agricultural policy. Noteworthy is the agenda of the European Parliament President, which includes high-profile meetings with EU commissioners and international representatives such as John Hannaford from Canada and Jason Kwon from OpenAI.

Tuesday’s sessions will feature extensive discussions across various committees, focusing on regional development priorities, fisheries decarbonization, workplace digitalization, and human rights, amongst others. The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs will debate proposals related to immigration, asylum, and internal security for the upcoming financial framework.

The plenary session on Wednesday will delve into the first annual European report on asylum and migration, gender equality strategy, and the repression of human rights defenders. This will be complemented by press conferences discussing sustainability obligations for businesses and transnational repression in a global authoritarian context.

As the week progresses, Thursday’s plenary will review the conclusions from the recent European Council meeting and vote on urgent matters such as EU regulations on deforestation and climate neutrality. The President of the European Parliament will also participate in a memorial in Paris honoring the victims of the 2015 terrorist attacks.

The week will conclude with further interinstitutional negotiations on the EU budget for 2026 and meetings with various stakeholders in Paris, demonstrating the European Parliament’s active role in shaping EU policies and international relations.
