Detectives have charged a 40-year-old man following an investigation into a wounding incident that occurred at Surfers Paradise on the night of September 30. The incident involved a 48-year-old woman who was allegedly wounded during an altercation with the man, who is known to her. Police responded to a unit on the Gold Coast Highway just after 10 p.m., where they found the woman injured. She was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. Authorities have charged the man from Biggera Waters with one count of wounding. The accused appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on October 1.
