In a dramatic turn of events, Queensland Police have apprehended three teenagers following the alleged theft of a vehicle which resulted in critical injuries to a woman in Runaway Bay on September 27, 2025. According to police reports, the incident began shortly before 4 p.m. when the teenagers allegedly broke into a residence on Morala Avenue. The occupants attempted to stop the theft of their black Mercedes, during which a 54-year-old woman was struck by the vehicle as the suspects made their escape. The victim was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Meanwhile, police tracked the stolen vehicle to the M1 Pacific Motorway Yatala South Interchange, where the teenagers were taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. A crime scene has been declared on Morala Avenue, and investigations are currently underway.
