President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a significant shift in signals from former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding support for Ukraine. The statement was made during a meeting with the Ukrainian community at the Ukrainian Institute of America, where Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of maintaining global focus on Ukraine amidst its ongoing conflict with Russia.

The meeting began with a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives defending Ukraine from Russian aggression. President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States, highlighting the visibility of Ukrainian flags and the respect for Ukraine’s cause in America and beyond.

During his U.S. visit, Zelenskyy participated in 34 events, including crucial discussions with Trump. He noted that the change in Trump’s stance is pivotal for both strategic and tactical support for Ukraine’s defense and future independence. The President underscored joint efforts with U.S. and European allies to enhance sanctions against Russia, particularly targeting the energy sector.

Zelenskyy also outlined advances in bilateral cooperation with the United States, covering areas such as minerals, drones, and arms procurement. As a gesture of appreciation, he awarded Metropolitan Borys (Gudziak) the Order of Merit, I class, recognizing his contributions to the Ukrainian community.
