In a recent development, Queensland Police have charged a 33-year-old man from Algester in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred on September 4th in Cedar Vale. The incident took place shortly after midnight on Mount Lindesay Highway, where a white Toyota Corolla reportedly struck a 66-year-old roadworker near Cedar Grove Road and then fled the scene.

The vehicle involved was discovered burnt out on Holyrood Court in Munruben a short time later. The injured roadworker was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

The accused has been charged with six offences, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, failing to remain at the incident and render assistance, and vehicle arson. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court on November 24th.
