President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, recently held a phone call with President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to discuss strategic cooperation and plans for the future. During the conversation, President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for President Erdoğan’s personal contribution and Türkiye’s constructive role in the pursuit of a just and lasting peace. The main focus of the discussion was the upcoming meeting in Türkiye, aimed at bringing the ongoing conflict closer to an end. The leaders also discussed the recent Coalition of the Willing meeting that took place in Kyiv on May 10, with the participation of several countries. An agreement was reached for a full and unconditional ceasefire to begin immediately, lasting for at least 30 days. Both Presidents emphasized the importance of proper monitoring of the ceasefire by international partners, with Türkiye offering its support in this regard. President Zelenskyy and President Erdoğan reaffirmed their commitment to joint efforts in the pursuit of peace, with both leaders agreeing on the necessity of a ceasefire.
