Police have apprehended a suspect following a break-in at a business on Cemetery Road, West Mackay, on the evening of September 14. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m., when a 36-year-old man allegedly breached the business premises by climbing through a barbed-wire fence and stealing tools from a parked vehicle. Authorities quickly responded to the scene and spotted the suspect attempting to flee on foot. With the assistance of a police dog unit, officers were able to locate and arrest the man nearby. The suspect, a resident of Hay Point, faces charges of entering a premise with the intent to commit an indictable offense and obstructing police. He is scheduled to appear at the Mackay Magistrates Court on October 13.
