The crash, which took place around 6.20 pm on the New England Highway near The Summit, involved a Mack truck and a Mitsubishi Pajero. Both vehicles caught fire after leaving the roadway upon impact. The Pajero’s driver, a Collingwood Park resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck’s driver, a 65-year-old from New South Wales, sustained minor injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
