In a recent phone call, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Finland Alexander Stubb coordinated their positions with the aim of advancing negotiations toward a lasting peace in Ukraine. The discussions focused on developing robust, multilateral security guarantees for Ukraine, with the involvement of European, American, and other partners from the Coalition of the Willing. Zelenskyy highlighted ongoing efforts by military commanders and defense ministers to prepare the components of future security measures. He emphasized the need to expedite the process and proposed organizing a forum for leaders to prioritize and establish timelines for these security discussions. The conversation also addressed Ukraine’s relations with the United States, aiming to enhance the substance of their collaboration. Zelenskyy expressed concerns over Russia’s continued military actions and negative diplomatic signals, stressing that Ukraine requires increased international pressure on Russia. He asserted that genuine diplomatic steps must be initiated by the Russian side to progress toward peace. Furthermore, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude toward Stubb for Finland’s support and invited him to visit Kyiv, reinforcing the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
