Second Lady’s Space-Themed Reading Event

Second Lady Usha Vance is set to host a special reading event for children at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston on Monday, August 4th. As part of her Summer Reading Challenge, this event will feature Vance alongside NASA astronaut Suni Williams, who will read a space-themed book to children from grades K-8.

The event, aimed at sparking imagination and discovery among youth, will be streamed live on NASA+ at approximately 2:45 p.m. EDT, providing a unique opportunity for children nationwide to engage with the wonders of space exploration. Interested U.S. media representatives are encouraged to RSVP by July 31 to attend the event and gain further insights into the activities planned for the day.

This initiative by the Second Lady is part of a broader effort to inspire young readers to explore new worlds through literature, while also aligning with NASA’s Artemis campaign.
