Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have upgraded a woman’s charge from attempted murder to murder following the death of an 18-year-old man at Daisy Hill. The incident occurred on May 30, when emergency services were called to a Marbura Court address, finding both the man and a 40-year-old woman semi-conscious.

The young man was hospitalized and remained in an induced coma until his passing on June 4. The woman, who recovered from her coma on June 1, was initially charged with attempted murder. However, this charge has now been escalated to murder.

The investigation, carried out under Operation Xray GRIT with assistance from the Homicide Investigation Unit, involved meticulous forensic examinations and collaboration across multiple specialist units. Detective Senior Sergeant Daniel Cunningham described the case as tragic, highlighting the impact on the victim’s family and the community.

The woman is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today. Police continue to urge anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
