Police in Queensland have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with the theft of 53 right shoes from a business in Kenmore. The incident occurred on the evening of July 7, when the suspect allegedly entered a shopping center on Brookfield Road and took the shoes, which were stored in a shared commercial area.

Following an investigation by the Indooroopilly Criminal Investigation Branch, the man from Mount Gravatt East was apprehended in Broadbeach on July 17. He has been charged with one count of entering premises and committing an indictable offense and is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 18.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Blyth highlighted the unusual nature of the theft, noting that it helped investigators swiftly identify the suspect. “It’s not every day you come across a case involving the theft of 53 right shoes,” he remarked. Thanks to effective CCTV footage and public assistance, the stolen items have been recovered and returned to the business.

Authorities urge anyone with additional information regarding this incident to contact Policelink or provide anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers.
