In a significant move to bolster its educational framework, Ukraine has announced a new initiative to collaborate with professors from the world’s top 250 universities. The program, approved by the Council of the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science, and Sports, aims to bring esteemed academics from institutions such as MIT, Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, and Columbia University to teach in Ukraine.

The initiative will allow foreign professors to conduct lectures both online and in-person for periods ranging from three to nine months. This expansion in academic collaboration is expected to enhance the quality of education and potentially encourage Ukrainian students, who have left the country due to ongoing conflicts, to return.

Olena Kovalska, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of this program in rebuilding trust in Ukraine’s educational potential during wartime. Olha Budnyk, Advisor and Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on the Fund, highlighted that this is a strategic move to ensure Ukraine remains competitive in the global academic arena.

The process for selecting professors will be conducted online, with applications assessed by experts based on specific criteria. The announcement for applications will follow the approval of the resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
